Phonics-Based Learning

Reading fluency begins with sound, not spelling. Our phonics program introduces letter-sound relationships systematically, giving children the tools to decode words independently rather than memorise them by rote — a method widely regarded as the most reliable foundation for early literacy.

Monthly Stage Competitions

Confidence in public settings is built through repeated, low-stakes practice, not occasional high-pressure events. Our monthly stage competitions — spanning recitation, elocution and performance — give every child regular opportunity to speak, present and be heard.

Yearly Class Assemblies

Each class takes ownership of an assembly once a year, planning and presenting it collectively. Beyond the content itself, the process teaches children to plan in groups, take on individual responsibility and present that work to an audience of peers and teachers.

Gymnastics

Structured gymnastics builds balance, spatial awareness and body control well ahead of what free play alone typically develops. At this age, these movement fundamentals also support cognitive skills like sequencing and attention.

Geeta Classes

Alongside academic and physical development, we set aside dedicated time for the study of the Bhagavad Geeta, introduced at a level appropriate to young children — early exposure to reflection, ethics and the traditions that inform Sandipani's own founding philosophy.

Sports Day

Physical literacy in early childhood is directly linked to attention, self-regulation and long-term health outcomes. Our annual Sports Day incorporates structured races, yoga sequences and aerobic circuits designed as a deliberate introduction to movement, coordination and sustained effort.

Field Trips and Excursions

Concepts introduced indoors are abstractions until a child encounters them directly. Our field trips are designed as extensions of the classroom rather than breaks from it, giving children the opportunity to observe, question and situate what they've learned within the world beyond school walls.

Yoga

Beyond its physical benefits, yoga offers young children an early framework for emotional regulation — a structured, non-verbal method for managing frustration, restlessness and conflict. We include it in the daily routine as a foundational life skill, not an elective activity.

Special Assemblies

Formal instruction has limits; certain kinds of understanding are best built through shared, hands-on exploration. Our thematic assemblies — spanning seasons, sensory exploration, transport and habitats among other topics — bring parents and children into a shared learning experience.
